Mysuru Man Assaulted For Making Song On PM Modi, Probe Underway: Report
The victim claimed that he had composed and released a song named 'Jai Ho Modi' on his YouTube channel, following which he was assaulted by a group of five men.
In a shocking incident reported from Karnataka's Mysuru area, a man has claimed that he was allegedly beaten up for composing a song praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The victim claimed that he had composed and released a song named 'Jai Ho Modi' on his YouTube channel, following which he was allegedly gagged and attacked by a group of five men.
The incident is said to have taken place at the Government Guest House campus. However, police is yet to verify the man's claims, Times of India reported.
In a statement given by the victim to the police, he claimed that he was sharing the link of the song with one of his acquantainces when the incident happened.
"I was sharing my channel link and asking all to subscribe. One of the guys came out near the government guest house. I didn’t know he was a Muslim. I asked him to watch the song and asked him to share it and subscribe to my channel," India Today quoted him as saying.
The victim stated that the accused then took him inside on the pretext of introducing him to his other friends, saying that he watched the song and liked it.
After entering the room, the victim's mouth was closed and his hands were held from behind by the accused men, who then hurled abuses at him for making the song for PM Modi, the report noted.
The victim also claimed that the men not only abused him, but urinated on him and asked him to chant "Pakistan Zindabad".
He has sustained injuries on his hand, caused due to the fragments of broken bottles. The police stated that the victim's hand was burned with cigarettes, the TOI report read.
The probe into the matter is underway and police have formed six special teams following the complaint from the victim.
CCTV footage of the guest house is also being examined by the police to verify the details provided by the victim, India Today reported.
