'Didn't Have Money To Feed Her', Claims Bengaluru Techie After Killing 2-Year-Old Daughter

According to police, Parmar had incurred a huge financial loss in his bitcoin business and was unemployed for the last six months

A debt-ridden 45-year-old techie from Bengaluru killed his 2-year-old daughter and claimed that he didn't have money to feed her, said police. After buying the little girl biscuits and chocolates as he drove out of Bengaluru and played with his daughter in the rear seat, the techie killed his daughter before attempting to end his life, said a Times of India report.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Parmar, who hailed from Gujarat and got settled in Bengaluru with his wife two years ago. The debt-ridden techie, who survived the suicide attempt, said that his daughter started crying and he didn't have any money left with him and a worse situation awaited if he returned home. "I just hugged her tight and killed her. My helplessness to buy her food made me take the decision. I jumped into the lake with her to kill myself, but didn't drown," he told police, as quoted by ToI.

The dead body of the 2-year-old was found in Kendatti lake in Kolar taluk on Saturday night. A blue colour car was also found on the bank of the lake, reported news agency ANI. After preliminary investigation, the police arrested the accused. Parmar and his daughter went missing on November 15, after which, the child's mother filed a missing complaint with the police station.

According to police, Parmar had incurred a huge financial loss in his bitcoin business and was unemployed for the last six months. It was reported that Parmar has earlier filed a fake police complaint with the police of gold jewellery theft from his house. After an investigation into the theft case, police learned that Parmar himself stole the gold from his residence and pledged.
