Bihar floods: River Kosi floods Supaul, affecting 3.83 Lakh people
Supaul (Bihar) [India], Sept 4 (ANI): Bihar floods continued to wreak havoc on Monday, as the water of River Kosi engulfed many north eastern districts of the state. It affected around 3.83 Lakh people by flooding Supaul.
Taking the Supaul flood into account, the estimated number of lives affected by the floods in Bihar stands at over one Crore seventy eight lakh now.
A few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken an aerial survey of flood affected areas with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
However, farmers in Bihar recently complained of not receiving relief in any form from the state government even as the floods in the state practically destroyed the fields, damaged standing crops and washed away everything.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan donated Rs. 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for smoother relief operations for floods' victims. (ANI)
