Mumbai Sees Slight Increase In Covid Cases After Dip For 5 Days. Delhi Logs 11,684 Infections

New Delhi: Mumbai witnessed a marginal increase in the number of daily Covid-19 cases on Tuesday after infections declined for five days in a row while cases continued to dip in Delhi. The national capital registered 11,684 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.
Delhi Covid-19 Cases, Deaths
According to the health department, Delhi recorded 11,684 new Covid-19 cases and 38 new fatalities on Tuesday. The positive rate fell to 22.47 per cent.

On Monday, the national capital recorded 12,527 new Covid cases and 24 fatalities, with a positive rate of 27.99%.
On Monday, 52,002 tests were conducted, an increase over the 44,762 tests done on Sunday. A total of 2,730 individuals have been hospitalised, including 139 on ventilator support.
The total caseload has mounted to 17,34,181 in Delhi while the death toll has gone up to 25,425. The number of active cases in the city stands at 78,112, including 63,432 patients in home isolation.
Mumbai Covid-19 Cases, Deaths
In its health bulletin, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said Mumbai recorded 6,149 fresh Covid-19 cases and seven deaths in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) revised the quarantine criteria for travellers arriving in Mumbai from the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, on Sunday.
In contrast to the previous Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), travellers arriving in the city from the UAE are now free from the mandatory 7-day home quarantine and RT-PCR test upon arrival, according to a BMC directive published on Sunday.
