Covid Update | India Logs 17,092 Fresh Cases, 29 Deaths In Last 24 Hrs

In the last 24 hours, India registered 17,092 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as well as 29 fatalities from the infection. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday, the country experienced 14,684 discharges in the past 24 hours, bringing the total recovery rate to roughly 98.54 percent and total recoveries to 4,28,51,590, news agency ANI reported.

In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has increased by 2,379 cases. According to the government, active cases account for 0.25 percent of overall illnesses.

According to statistics, the number of active Covid cases on February 28 was 1,02,601. It fell to 92,472 on March 1.

The country's overall death toll is at 5,25,168. The first fatality from the COVID pandemic was recorded in India in March 2020.

On July 2, the daily positivity rate was 4.14 percent.

Maharashtra Covid Cases

Meanwhile, Maharashtra recorded 3,249 new coronavirus cases, a small decrease from the previous day, when the state recorded 3,640 new coronavirus cases. According to the state health agency, four more fatalities have been related to the virus.

With these additions, the state's total COVID-19 tally jumped to 79,79,363, while the mortality toll soared to 1,47,929, according to a health department report. The state has 3,640 cases and three fatalities as of Thursday. According to the bulletin, 4,189 individuals recovered from coronavirus infection in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total to 78,07,438 and leaving the state with 23,996 active cases.
