Coronavirus Update: Apollo Hospitals Ready To Administer Over 7,00,000 Covid-19 Vaccines Per Day

With a widespread network of pharmacy stores and other healthcare outlet, Apollo claims that 29 per cent-30 per cent of India is just 30 minutes away from an Apollo outlet.

New Delhi: Apollo Hospitals on Wednesday announced its plan to administer around 7,00,000 coronavirus vaccines per day. The healthcare group will be using its pan-India network consisting of 70 hospitals, 400 clinics, 500 corporate health centers, 4000 pharmacy stores and its online platform Apollo 24/7 to ensure optimum management of the coronavirus vaccine. The Zydus Cadila ZyCovD and ICMR-Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN are in the second stage of clinical testing, and the results are awaited in early November. While vaccine processed by the Serum Institute of India, Oxford AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate, is undergoing phase 3 trials. Experts hope to get results by the end of November or early December this year. The fourth one is the Russian developed Sputnik V, which recently got approval from the Drug Controller General of India in partnership with Dr. Reddy lab to conduct mid and final stage clinical trials earlier this month. Meanwhile cold chain network created by the hospital can deliver vaccines in less than 30 minutes and up to 48 hours across the country. “We are pleased to share that Apollo Hospital has been strengthening its cold chain supply of vaccines and assisting all Apollo facilities for effective and rapid management with the highest safety standards, with a daily dose of up to one million doses," Executive Vice Chairman of Apollo Hospital Groups, Shobana Kamineni told the media. As per the Executive Vice Chairman of Apollo Hospital Groups the Apollo Covid team has tested around 2,30,000 patients and treated around 76,000 patients. Till now around 40.9 cases of Covid-19 have been reported from around the world. India which ranks second in terms of cases has till now reported 7.65 million cases.
