Actress Allegedly Caught Consuming 'Charas' In Hotel, Arrested By Mumbai Police

Police officials revealed that the actress and her friend were sent for a medical test that confirmed that they have consumed banned drugs during the party.

A Telugu actress and her friend were arrested by Mumbai Police for alleged possession and consumption of drugs in the wee hours of Monday.

The actress was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. According to reports, Telugu actress Naira Shah got arrested from a 5-star along with one of her friends on the charges of consuming banned substance in raid conducted by the SantaCruz Police.

However, the actress was later released on bail by the Bandra court.

According to a report in Etimes, the Police alleged that the actress was celebrating her birthday at the JW Marriott hotel, located in Juhu. After the party, she and her friend went to their suite and they reportedly had one gram of charas on them. After getting a complaint, the police took the action and conducted a raid at a hotel room where they found a rolled cigarette.

Police officials also revealed that the two were sent for a medical test that confirmed that they have consumed banned drugs during the party. Later, they were produced before a local magistrate court and granted bail.

On a related note, the NDPS act prohibits a person from the production/ manufacturing/ cultivation, possession, sale, purchasing, transport, storage, and/or consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.
