Popular television actor Mohsin Khan, known for his portrayal of Kartik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, recently shared a revelation about his health. In a recent interview, the 32-year-old actor disclosed that he suffered a mild heart attack last year, which was triggered by a condition known as fatty liver disease. The health issue left him unwell for nearly a year.
Mohsin Khan on his break that lasted 2.5 years
Speaking with Pinkvilla, Mohsin reflected on his journey in the entertainment industry, marking a decade as a professional actor this August. He recounted how, after completing 1800 episodes in the Star Plus family drama, he decided to take a much-needed break that lasted around 2.5 years. "I have completed 10 years in the industry. Out of the 10 years, I have continuously worked for 7.5 years and have taken a break of 2.5 years. After starring in 1800 episodes, I just felt like taking a break. So mainly the break was for that reason, but then I fell sick," he explained.
Mohsin had a mild heart attack at 31
Mohsin went on to reveal the unexpected turn his break took due to his health issues. "I hadn’t thought of going on such a long break. I did plan for about a year and a half but after that, I fell sick. I developed a fatty liver which caused a mild heart attack. I haven’t revealed this to anyone before. I was admitted for some time. We had to change about three hospitals for the treatment. Because of this whole incident, my immunity weakened. I fell sick every few days. Now, I am much better and it is all under control."
Mohsin had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
Discussing the root cause of his health problems, Mohsin identified non-alcoholic fatty liver disease as the culprit. He spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, saying, "The condition is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. It all happens when you don’t have a fixed sleep pattern, don’t eat right, all this matters. I think the condition is quite common, but we need to stay quite conscious about it."
Mohsin Khan joined the cast of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in 2016 and became a household name through his role as Kartik Goenka, which he played until October 18, 2021.
