Are Jethalal, Babita Ji Quitting ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’? Makers Respond To Exit Rumours

Fans noticed the absence of Jethalal and Babita Ji from the current ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ track, triggering exit rumours.

The absence of Jethalal and Babita Ji in the current track of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has stirred buzz online, leaving fans questioning whether actors Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta have quietly exited the long-running sitcom. However, the makers have now cleared the air and confirmed that the duo remains an integral part of the show.

No Jethalal or Babita Ji in Haunted Bungalow Plot

The current storyline revolves around Gokuldham society members visiting a haunted bungalow, with characters like Bapuji, Popatlal, Anjali, and Sodhi present in the episodes. Notably missing from this vacation sequence, however, are fan-favourite Jethalal and Babita Ji, which led to widespread speculation across social media.

Fueling the rumours, fans pointed out that both Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta have been off-screen for several episodes. But according to a clarification reported by ABP News, the production house has said that Jethalal is away on a business trip, while Babita Ji and Iyer are shown to be vacationing in Mahabaleshwar as part of the ongoing narrative.

Longtime TMKOC Stars Still in the Cast

Both Dilip Joshi and Munmun Dutta have been with the show since its inception, and their on-screen chemistry has become a beloved element of TMKOC’s charm. Their continued presence has now been confirmed, easing concerns among long-time viewers.

Meanwhile, the show has seen several cast changes over the years. Actors like Disha Vakani, Jheel Mehta, Bhavya Gandhi, Raj Anadkat, and Neha Mehta have departed the sitcom, which has still managed to maintain its popularity over its 17-year run.

Asit Modi Reacts to Actors Leaving

In a past interview with SCREEN, producer Asit Kumarr Modi addressed the issue of actors leaving and alleged fallout. He said,
“I have never detached myself from the actors. If there is any issue, they can always contact me. I have always been very honest and kept the show first. I have never thought of any personal gains, so with incidents like these, I do get upset, but it’s a part of life.”

With official confirmation now in place, fans can expect Jethalal and Babita Ji to return to the screen soon, hopefully reuniting one of the show’s most adored on-screen dynamics.
