New Delhi: Punjab Cabinet minister and celebrity judge on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ season 2, Navjot Singh Sidhu, was sacked from the popular comedy show following his controversial comments on the Pulwama terror attack. Sidhu was heavily criticized on social media for his comments and netizens asked the makers of ‘TKSS 2’ to immediately remove him from the show. Archana Puran Singh was brought in as a replacement for Navjot Singh Sidhu on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. It was said that Sidhu was permanently removed from the show. However, if a recent report in a leading daily is to be believed, the contract between Sidhu and Sony TV was never terminated. The show’s producer Salman Khan and the channel are waiting for the controversy to cool down so that they can bring Sidhu back on the show. Once everything is back to normal, the makers might bring Sidhu back on the show, the report in Dainik Bhaskar said. It is also being said that channel has asked Kapil Sharma and the other members of the show to refrain from commenting on the controversy. Interestingly, the report also said that Archana Puran Singh has signed a contract with the channel for only 20 episodes. It remains to be seen if Salman Khan and the channel will bring back Navjot Singh Sidhu back on the show or not. Days after social media users slammed Sidhu for his comments and asked for his removal, Kapil broke his silence and said that banning someone is not the solution.
