Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide: EX Girlfriend Ankita Lokhande Is 'Devastated', Says Pavitra Rishta Co-Star Parag Tyagi

New Delhi: Sushant Singh Rajput, considered one of the finest talents of younger generation, committed suicide by hanging himself at his apartment on Sunday (June 14). He reportedly made a phone call to one of his close friends before taking the drastic step. Sushant, who made a successful transition from TV to cinema, was known for his acting prowess. Sushant became a household name after playing the role of Manav opposite Ankita Lokhande in Zee TV’s ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The show was quite popular among the small screen viewers and aired over 1000 episodes. Sushant and Ankita were in a relationship for several years but they parted ways in 2016. Their break-up shocked their fans and TV industry as they were regarded as one of the most desirable jodis on small screen. Parag Tyagi, who played Sushant’s brother-in-law in ‘Pavitra Rishta’, said that Ankita is devastated after hearing the tragic news of Sushant’s suicide. The ‘Shakti’ actor, while talking to an entertainment portal, said that Sushant’s on-screen mother, Usha Nadkarni, has been crying since she heard the news. “Aai (Usha Nadkarni) can't stop crying. Manju Shah (Swati Anand), everyone is shattered after hearing the news. All Pavitra Rishta actors were discussing and everyone is asking why? I spoke to Ankita (Lokhande). She is also devastated and everyone is speechless as to how this happened. She was devastated and is unable to believe the news. He was so good,” Parag Tyagi told ETimes. Ankita had shared a cryptic post on her Instagram story before the news of Sushant's suicide hit the internet. The Manikarika' actress has deleted the post.
