Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Actor Had Made Last Call To A Close Friend Hours Before Suicide; Police Probe Underway

The family said they got the information through the news channel and they had no idea about the reports of his depression.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide at his Mumbai residence on Sunday afternoon. The 34-year-old actor was found hanging in his apartment in Bandra.

According to the reports, a domestic help alerted the police. Rajput's friends were also present at his home, when he committed suicide. They broke open his room when he didn't respond. As of now no suicide note has been found from his home.

However, according to sources, the actor had made a phone call to one of his close friends with whom he had worked in a popular TV serial hours before his death. The call was made post 12 am last night. Police is investigating the matter and has not found any foul play into the death. The actor who shot to prominence with television industry as Manav in Pavitra Rishta has shocked one and all with this step.  Though Rajput’s career was undergoing a cold phase since some time, he had already made a mark among the promising actors of the industry and had given several critically acclaimed films to the industry. The news of him ending his life, has raised several questions. The family said they got the information through the news channel and they had no idea about the reports of his depression. It is to be noted that actor's suicide has come days after his ex-manager Disha Salian had committed suicide on Monday (June 8) by jumping off the 14^th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. According to reports, Disha was with her fiancé when she committed suicide. The reason behind her suicide is not known yet.

Sushant Singh Rajput was one of the renowned actors of Bollywood and has featured in films such as MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kai Po Che, Kedarnath, Chhichhore. He started his acting career with Television show Pavitra Rishta.

Reports say the funeral ceremony of the actor will be performed on Monday considering restrictions in place due to coronavirus lockdown.
