New Delhi: ‘Shark Tank India Season 2’s latest episode saw a variety of impressive pitches by brands like Mindpeers, Manhattan and Bharosi. In the very first pitch by Manhantam, the entrepreneur duo fetched an all five sharks deal of Rs. 30 lakh for 20% equity at a valuation of Rs. 1. 5 crores.
Manhattan’s pitch was so impressive that all sharks were superbly impressed by the entrepreneurs whom Namita even went to the extent of calling, “so cute” because of their honest and simplistic manner of answering all questions related to their product. The product they were pitching was a tea-glass washing machine which could wash 15 glasses at a time.
Their story began in a village where they borrowed money from their college professors and built a machine whose video on YouTube attracted sales offers.
Furtheron, in the episode, a company with the name Mindpeers made a pitch to all sharks even going to the extent of specifically asking each shark to share their sector-related expertise.
Its leading founder spoke about her struggles with a panic attack at a company which she built and sold, and got an exit of Rs. 8 crores only at the age of 27. Mindpeers, a neuroscience deploying gaming app, then got themselves a deal of Rs. 1.06 crores for 2% equity from four sharks; one being a Rs. 53 lakh for 1 % from Peyush and the rest Rs. 53 lakh for 1% equity with three sharks ( Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh).
Later in the episode, a brand called Bharosi made a pitch which though impressed all the sharks did not get an offer from any of the sharks. Namita even told the Bharosi founder that we are showing a mirror to you. All sharks advised Bharosi’s founder to fasten his pace to build a great brand. Aman Gupta ended the episode by saying that he should ‘bhaago’ as in speed up to be able to make a mark in the cluttered market where in the same category ( of organic milk and ghee) other brands were doing really well.
