'Shark Tank India Season 4' recently saw an entrepreneur return for the second time for a pitch. Ashutosh Roy, had been a part of the second season of the show. In his earlier pitch, he had then represented a clothing brand. However, Ashutosh had no stake in the company and the sharks had advised him to let go of the job and start something of his own.

At the time, Aman Gupta had even offered to give him Rs. 50 lakh so that he could start  a business together. However, initially, Aman who had no memory of Ashutosh, was surprised that he asked the sharks for Rs. 10 for 1% of the business, valuing it at Rs. 1000.

It was not just Aman but Namita Thapar also did not remember his appearance on the show. However, it was only Vineeta Singha who rememebered his pitch, during which the sharks had told him that he was not being treated unfairly by his employer. "Bachche ko loot lia,” is what Aman had said at the time.

Ashutosh had shared the story of his clothing brand Off Int, and had spoken about his co-founder Rani Ahluwalia, who is an equal partner in the business and has already invested Rs 5 crore. When he was asked what prompted him to start his own business after his experience on the show. Ashutosh shared that the day his pitch was supposed to go on air, he received a call from the police that his father's dead body had been found on the railway tracks. Aman who was visibly surprised added, "That is crazy. I got goosebumps just listening to that.”

So, when Ashutosh finaly watched his pitch, he realised that he had to start something of his own. It was also during that time Rani got in touch with me from the UK, and as she had also seen the pitch on the show, she was interested. Ashutosh shared that Rani came from a wealthy family whose net worth was about Rs. 5500 cr. Anupam Mittal then asked why he had come on the show again to which Ashutosh said, "I don’t need money, I need expertise.” He also added that he had over Rs. 2 cr in his bank and that Rani had enough funds, so they can manage the finance part of the business on their own.

While the sharks 'complimented' the quality of his garments, they questioned his USP. At one point, Anupam also pointed out, "Yeh banta hua nahi dikh raha mujhe. However, later all sharks came on board and closed it at 4% of the company( each for Anupam, Aman and Peyush Bansal, and 0.5% for Namita and Vineeta) for Rs. 10 lakh, valuing the company at Rs. 2 cr.
