Mumbai: Popular television actress Munmun Dutta, who is seen playing the role of Babita in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has managed to win the hearts of the viewers with her power-packed performance. Munmun, who enjoys a significant fan following, is fondly known by her on-screen name. The fans love to address her as 'Babita ji' rather than her real name.
Ardent viewers of the show are missing their favorite actress as Munmun is not featuring in 'TMKOC' since a long time. Speculations about her absence have created lot of buzz on the internet.

The makers of the show shifted the shoot to Daman after the state government in Maharashtra announced a lockdown in order to combat the further spread of COVID-19. Munmun didn't join the other cast members on the sets in Daman. After the state government lifted the restictions, several producers returned to Mumbai and resumed the shoot in the Maximum City.
A report in SpotboyE suggested that Munmum hasn't reported to the sets of 'Taarak Mehta' ever since she received flak for her casteist comment in her YouTube video. Several Twitters had slammed the Bengali beauty for using a cateist remark in a video and even asked her to issue an apology. Dutta had apologised to the people and stated that she didn't intent to hurt the sentiments of the people.
The report in the entertainment portal said that Munmun might quit the show. The rumour of her leaving 'TMKOC' spread like wildfire on the internet.
