KBC 16: Amitabh Bachchan recently shared heartfelt praise for the late Ratan Tata on 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 16', revealing a memorable moment that highlighted Tata’s modest nature. In a new teaser promo, Amitabh recalled a time he and Tata shared a flight to London, where Tata's simplicity and humility left a lasting impression. 

Recalling the incident, Amitabh told the guests Boman Irani and Farah Khan, “Kya aadmi the main bata nahi sakta. Such a simple human being. Ek baar hua ye ki hum dono ek hi jahaj mein jaa rahe the London. Finally landed at Heathrow Airport (What a man! Once we were both travelling via the same flight)."

Amitabh Bachchan was surprised when Ratan Tata borrowed money from him

"Ab jo log unko lene aaye the woh chale gaye honge aur dikhe nahi unhe. Toh he went into the phone booth to call. Main bhi udhar bahar hi khada tha. Thodi der baad wo aaye and I can't believe that he said this! ‘Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don’t have money to make a phonecall! (It seemed the people there to receive him had left. He stepped into a phone booth to make a call, and I waited nearby. A while later, he returned and said something I couldn’t believe: ‘Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don’t have change to make a call!).” 

Ratan Tata's death

Tata, an iconic figure in Indian industry, who led the Tata Group for over two decades, passed away on October 10 at the age of 86. His passing at South Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital prompted tributes across social media from celebrities, including Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn, and Anushka Sharma, each honoring his legacy and warmth. 

The latest season of KBC airs on Sony Entertainment Television, continuing to captivate audiences every weekday at 9 PM.
