New Delhi: Ekta Kapoor’s reboot version of ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ has managed to win the hearts of the viewers. The romantic saga starring Parth Samthaan, Erica Fernandes and Hina Khan has climbed up the TRP charts and became the number one show on Star Plus. Erica and Parth’s sizzling chemistry has helped the show in grabbing several eyeballs. Before the launch of ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2’, several top actors were rumoured to play the role of Anurag Basu. In the end it was Parth Samthaan, who bagged the iconic role and he is doing quite a good job. The names of Shaheer Sheikh, Barun Sobti, Abhimanyu Chaudhary were rumoured to be in contention to play the male lead in ‘Kasautii 2’. (Parth & Erica in Kasautii 2's first promo) Popular TV actor Shivin Narang, while talking to an entertainment portal, revealed that he was also approached to play the role of Anurag Basu. The talented actor said that he was offered the role but he couldn’t take it up because his father was not keeping well that time. "They had approached me earlier on for the role but at that time, I just couldn't due to my father's ill health, later the show got pushed it seems. However, by then I had signed Internet Wala Love and I wanted to do something new and exciting so I gave that a shot," Shivin told Pinkvilla.

On the professional front, Shivin Narang made his TV debut with ‘Suvreen Guggal – Topper of The Year’ opposite Smriti Kalra in 2012. He shot to fame after playing the role of Ranveera in Star Plus’ Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera. The actor was last seen in ‘Internet Wala Love’, which went off air on March 29.
