COVID-19 Effect: After 'Naagin 4' & 'Vidya', Another TV Show To Go OFF AIR

Several shows are going off air and won't return back after the shooting resumes in Mumbai.

New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the TV industry in India. Several shows won’t be returning back to your television screens as the channels have decided to axe them. ‘Beyhadh 2’, ‘Nazar 2’, ‘Patiala Babes’, ‘Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein’, ‘Naagin 4’ and ‘Kartik Purnima’ are going off air, much to the surprise of the viewers. The fans were also shocked after Ekta Kapoor announced that ‘Naagin 4’ will also end. She revealed that ‘Naagin 5’ will replace the fourth season of the supernatural show. As per the latest buzz, another show will bite the dust. We are talking about Zee TV’s ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’. Speculations were rife that the show will go off air; however, the makers had refuted the rumours. Producer Karan Raj Kohli has finally confirmed the news of the show going off air. “Yes, Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai is going off air. Things are changing for the entire entertainment industry. It’s not only a decision for Ziddi but most broadcasters are forced to change their strategy, due to these trying times. Ziddi was a special show with a powerful message for everyone at the network and Manor Rama Pictures. It’s extremely unfortunate but everyone in the industry not limited to broadcasters, producers, actors and crew are facing a terrible and unthinkable time. Zee has been a great network to partner with and we are happy to have built a relationship with them. Viraj (Kapur) and I are looking forward to creating more wonderful shows with Zee in the near future,” Karan told IWMBuzz. 'Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai' featured 'Bigg Boss 12' contestant Rohit Suchanti and Megha Ray in lead roles. The show, which went on air in November 2019, focused on the story of Kajal Vyas, who suffered from Retinitis Pigmentosa. ‘Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti’ is expected to replace ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’.
The makers of ‘Vidya’ recently announced that the social drama has also faced the axe. The show starring Meera Deosthale and Namish Taneja was doing a good job at the early evening slot.  The show’s producer called it a ‘COVID-19 death’ in his heartfelt post. Stay tuned for more updates!
