After 20 Years Sunny Deol-Ameesha Patel Starrer Gadar: Ek Prem Katha To Get A Sequel?

The cross-border love story was a huge hit amongst the masses as well as among critics back in 2001 when it was released.

Touted as one of the cult period drama, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-starrer Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is still one of the most loved films in the history of Indian cinema. And if reports are to be believed then after two decades of its release, the director is now planning a sequel to the period love story.

The cross-border love story was a huge hit amongst the masses as well as among critics back in 2001 when it was released. In-fact the film went on to become the highest-grossing films of 2001 and now after 20 years, Gadar might have a part two.

According to a report in Mid-day, Gadar 2 is on director Anil Sharma's mind and the makers are working on a script. A source told the tabloid, “The makers of Gadar have figured out the plot points and are working on a script. While Sunny and Ameesha Patel will be a part of the story, the director’s son Utkarsh, who essayed the role of their son Jeeta in the original, will play a pivotal part. The young actor had forayed into Bollywood in 2018 with Genius.”

Talking about the same, Anil Sharma said, “Talks about a sequel are on, but I will officially confirm at the right time. At the moment, things are at a nascent stage.”

Currently, Sharma is working on the pre-production of Apne 2 which stars Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Karan Deol in key roles.

Well, though the makers say that they are yet to make an official announcement but we are sure this news will surely leave all the Sunny Deol fans excited as his power-packed one liners are still audiences favourite and fans can’t wait to see Tara Singh(Sunny’s character in Gadar) in a new role!
