Vikram's 'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2' Release Halted, Faces Legal Hurdle – Key Details

'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2' featuring an ensemble cast including Vikram, SJ Suryah, Suraj, and Dushara Vijayan, with music composed by GV Prakash, has already generated strong buzz.

The fans of actor Vikram were eagerly awaiting the release of the action-packed 'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2', but the film's rollout has hit a major roadblock due to legal complications, leaving audiences disappointed.

Featuring an ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Suraj, and Dushara Vijayan, with music composed by GV Prakash, 'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2' has already generated strong buzz.

What Caused Delay?

The highly anticipated sequel, directed by SU Arunkumar (Chithha fame), was set for an early morning release on Thursday. However, a legal dispute between the film’s producer, HR Pictures, and B4U Entertainment, which holds the digital and satellite rights, led to last-minute disruptions.

Reports indicate that B4U Entertainment filed a plea in the Delhi High Court, alleging a breach of contract concerning the film’s OTT rights, as per a report on Times Now. As a result, the court issued an interim stay on the film’s release until 10:30 AM. This caused the cancellation of early morning shows, and major multiplex chains like PVR and Cinepolis postponed screenings until after 11 AM.

The legal hurdle has also impacted the film’s overseas release, with US premieres being canceled, disappointing international fans, reported DT Next.

When Will 'Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2' Release?

If the legal issues are resolved as expected, screenings will commence after 11 AM on Thursday. However, uncertainties remain regarding the digital release timeline due to the ongoing rights dispute.

Fans are now hopeful that the issue will be resolved quickly so they can finally witness the much-anticipated sequel on the big screen.

A Unique Case: Part 2 Before Part 1?

Interestingly, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 1 has not even begun production yet, making this an unusual release strategy. The project was first announced in October 2023 as Chiyaan 62 (marking Vikram’s 62nd lead role) before its official title was revealed in April 2024. The film has already received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
