Geetha Arts, the film’s production house, thanked key figures on Twitter, including Andhra Pradesh CM @ncbn, Deputy CM @PawanKalyan, and Cinematography Minister @kanduladurgesh. They expressed their appreciation for the government’s support, highlighting their contribution to empowering the film industry.

Thandel, scheduled to release on February 7, is based on a true story involving 20 Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh who were detained by Pakistan authorities for 22 years. At a recent event, Allu Aravind, the film’s presenter, shared the backstory: the fishermen, who had gone to Gujarat for a 30-day fishing trip, unknowingly crossed into Pakistan’s waters due to bad weather and were imprisoned. The film will focus on the struggles of their families, who fought for over two decades to bring them back.
