Ram Charan Announces New Film With Sukumar, SS Rajamouli's Son Says 'Imagining It As A Blockbuster Already'

Actor Ram Charan and director Sukumar are set to collaborate once again for their second project together following the success of their 2018 film "Rangasthalam."

New Delhi: Actor Ram Charan and director Sukumar are set to collaborate once again for their second project together following the success of their 2018 film "Rangasthalam." The announcement of their reunion was made on Holi, with Ram confirming that it will be his next film after his current project with Buchi Babu Sana. SS Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, provided hints about the project on a certain platform.

Sharing Ram’s announcement post on X, Karthikeya disclosed that the actor discussed the opening sequence of their upcoming film while shooting for "RRR." Karthikeya expressed his astonishment, stating, “I think during the climax shoot of RRR, he just randomly opened up about doing a film with Sukumar garu and started talking about the opening sequence of the film. For almost 5 minutes, my mind was blown.”

Impressed by Ram's enthusiasm, Karthikeya eagerly awaited the formal announcement of the film so he could discuss it openly, expressing, “Ever since he mentioned it, I've been waiting for the film to be announced. Imagining it as a blockbuster already, it will become one of the iconic sequences. I hope I won't leak much about it brother @AlwaysRamCharan.”

Ram's collaboration with Sukumar for the second time holds significant anticipation, especially after their groundbreaking work in "Rangasthalam." Ram's portrayal of Chitti Babu, a hearing-impaired character in the film, marked a pivotal moment in his career. The movie showcased a departure from both Ram and Sukumar's previous works, with Sukumar demonstrating his versatility in handling rustic narratives. The film was a resounding success upon its release.

Scheduled to commence production later in the year, the untitled project aims for a grand release in the last quarter of 2025. Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings are jointly producing the film, marking the reunion of the team behind the blockbuster hit "Rangasthalam."

Currently, Ram is occupied with the shooting of Shankar’s "Game Changer," where he essays the role of an IAS officer. Recently, he filmed sequences in Visakhapatnam alongside Kiara Advani for the movie. Following this, he will begin work on a film with director Buchi Babu Sana and actress Janhvi Kapoor. Meanwhile, Sukumar is engrossed in shooting for the sequel to "Pushpa: The Rise," titled "Pushpa: The Rule," featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil.
