Tamil star Rajinikanth recently released his first statement after he was discharged from the hospital, where he had undergone a planned procedure.

New Delhi: Tamil star Rajinikanth recently released his first statement after he was discharged from the hospital, where he had undergone a planned procedure. In a special note that the megastar shared, he thanked his well-wishers for praying for his recovery and for sharing all his love with love. For those unaware, Rajinikath was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, on September 30.

He has a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart, which was treated by a transcatheter method. 

The 73-year-old actor, who was dicharged on Friday, shared a note in Tamil on his official X handle, "To all my political friends who wished me a speedy recovery, to all my film fraternity friends, to all my well-wishers, the press and media, my sincere thanks to you all. And to the fans who have made me, who keep me alive and love me immeasurably, praying for my well-being. I express my sincere gratitude to you all.”

 

Rajinikanth also thanked PM Narendra Modi and wrote, "My dear honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji … my heartfelt thanks to you for your care and concern regarding my health and checking on me personally 🙏🏻” Rajinikanth thanked his longtime friend, megastar Amitabh Bachchan and wrote, “Thank you @SrBachchan ji for your love and showing such warm concern towards me …truly touched 🙏🏻”

Rajinikanth was visited by close friends and family when he was unwell. Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya recently visited the Tiruvottiyur Shri Vadivudai Amman Temple in Chennai to offer prayers for the actor.

On the work front, the megastar will next be seen in 'Vettaiyan'. The film will also star Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier and Rana Daggubati. The film is slated to be released on October 10, 2024.
