The uproar began when Vignesh Shivan reshared Jani Master’s Instagram Story from the film set: “Candid & crazy with the dearest #VigneshShivan Sir on the sets of #LoveInsuranceKompany. It’s always a joy working with you for the care, respect, and trust you shower on me, sir. Can’t wait to show the magic we created.”
The caption, praising their working relationship, quickly triggered criticism—viewers labelled the decision as “platforming a sexual predator.”
The backlash intensified as Nayanthara—both Vignesh Shivan’s wife and a producer of Love Insurance Kompany—faced flak for backing the collaboration. Social media users voiced frustration and concern over the couple’s decision to associate with someone facing serious allegations, sparking renewed debate about accountability and ethics in the film industry.

On X, singer Chinmayi Sripada slammed the pair, saying, “Jani is out on conditional bail involving a minor’s sexual assault. We as a people seem to love ‘talented’ offenders… Sweeeeeet!” Another user spotlighted Nayanthara's past support for women, questioning her integrity, “Nayan called herself a self‑made woman… Yet she's fine with her husband backing a man accused under POCSO.”
Others accused the duo of hypocrisy and voiced outrage at their continued association.
Jani Master’s POCSO Allegation
The controversy dates back to September 2024, when Jani Master was arrested under the POCSO Act after allegedly sexually assaulting a minor colleague. Although granted conditional bail, the scandal led to the revocation of his National Award for Best Choreography for the song “Megam Karukkatha” from Thiruchitrambalam.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have remained silent on the controversy so far.
