The highly anticipated Telugu mythological drama 'Kannappa' has made a significant impact at the box office, performing particularly well in Telugu-speaking regions.

‘Kannappa’ Box Office Collection Day 3: The long-awaited Telugu mythological drama ‘Kannappa’ finally hit cinemas on June 27 and has raked in a promising ₹23.75 crore in just three days. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, the high-budget film has been creating buzz not only for its pan-India cast but also for its ambitious storytelling rooted in divine devotion and action-packed visuals.
According to data from entertainment tracker Sacnilk, ‘Kannappa’ opened strong with ₹9.35 crore on its first day but witnessed a dip on Saturday, earning ₹7.15 crore. On Sunday, the film rebounded slightly with ₹7.25 crore, bringing its three-day total to ₹23.75 crore. While the film has been released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, its strongest performance has been in Telugu-speaking regions.
Kannappa's Telugu Version Leads the Way
The Telugu version of Kannappa led the film’s box office performance on Sunday with an impressive 39.93% overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 25.08%, afternoon shows surged to 51.16%, evening shows maintained a strong 50.75%, and night shows settled at 32.72%. In comparison, the Tamil version saw 24.11% occupancy, the Hindi release clocked in at 22.71%, while the Malayalam version lagged behind with just 5.82% occupancy.
Kannappa Vs Kuberaa
‘Kannappa’ is currently competing at the box office with Dhanush’s ‘Kuberaa’, which continues to hold strong. While 'Kuberaa' earned ₹4.50 crore on its tenth day (Sunday), it had done better than Kannappa on its own third day, with a ₹17.35 crore haul back then. Overall, Kuberaa has amassed ₹80.20 crore in India so far.
Despite the competition, ‘Kannappa’ has managed to stay afloat, partly driven by its ensemble cast featuring Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal in pivotal or cameo roles.
Interestingly, Vishnu Manchu recently revealed that both Prabhas and Mohanlal opted not to charge any fee for their appearances in the film.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and mounted on a staggering budget of ₹200 crore, ‘Kannappa’ tells the story of a fearless devotee of Lord Shiva. With its stunning visuals and devotional depth, the film offers both grandeur and emotion in equal parts.
