Rajinikanth Lauds Prabhas Starrer 'Kalki 2898 AD', Hails Nag Ashwin For 'Taking Indian Cinema To A Different Level'

Veteran actor Rajinikanth expressed his admiration for the Hindi-Telugu bilingual film Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan.

New Delhi: Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' had an impressive opening at the global box office, grossing ₹191.5 crore on its first day, as announced by the filmmakers on Friday. Veteran actor Rajinikanth expressed his admiration for the Hindi-Telugu bilingual film, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Shobhana.

Rajinikanth praises Kalki 2898 AD

Rajinikanth took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to share his excitement for the sci-fi film, saying, "Watched Kalki. WOW! What an epic movie! Director @nagashwin7 has taken Indian cinema to a different level. Hearty congratulations to my dear friend @AswiniDutt @SrBachchan @PrabhasRaju @ikamalhaasan @deepikapadukone and the team of Kalki 2898 AD. Eagerly awaiting Part 2. God bless."

 

Director Nag Ashwin was thrilled by Rajinikanth's praise, responding on X, "Sir... speechless... blessed... from our whole team (folded hands emojis)."

Nagarjuna praises Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD

Veteran actor Nagarjuna also praised the film's team on X, writing, "Congratulations to the team of super duper Kalki 2898 AD!! Naagi, you took us to another time and place, entwining fiction with mythology and history so effortlessly!! Amit Ji, the original mass hero… Sir, you are on fire... can’t wait to see Kamalji in the sequel… did not get enough of him! Prabhas, you did it all over again!! Deepika ji, you look so ethereal and convincing as the divine mother!! And the rest of the team (clapping emojis) Ashwini Dutt Garu, dear sweety and Swapna, God bless you! Indian cinema has done it again!!”

'Kalki 2898 AD,' directed by Nag Ashwin, is a post-apocalyptic film inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in the year 2898 AD. Previously titled 'Project K,' it is one of the most expensive feature films in Indian cinema, with a reported budget of ₹600 crore.

 

On Friday, the team of 'Kalki 2898 AD' shared a poster on X, announcing that the film grossed over ₹191.5 crore worldwide in all languages on its opening day.
