Kannada star Yash's upcoming film 'Toxic' has been generating buzz ever since it was announced. From its lead heroine to speculation about Kareena, Nayanthara and Kiara Advani doing the film, the rumour mill has been churning new updates quite frequently. Besides Yash, the makers have been tight-lipped about the film's cast. 

'Toxic' is all set to be a retro gangster film. Speaking with Digital Commentary, Akshay Oberoi, one of the confirmed cast members of the film, recently let it slip that Nayanthara has been confirmed for the project. 

Speaking about the film and the development around it, Akshay said, "Right now, I am shooting for Toxic with Yash…Megastar Yash, Rocking Star Yash is his actual title. And Nayanthara is there. Actually, I’m not sure I’m allowed to talk about the film’s cast; they won’t like it.”

Speaking about how he was cast in the film, Akshay shared that Geetu Mohandas cast him after seeing him in 'Fighter'. "But Geetu Mohandas is the director, and I am a huge fan of hers. I loved her film Liar’s Dice. I remember watching it and thinking she’s so good. I love Moothon, too. She saw Fighter and cast me for Toxic; I was dying to meet her. It’s my first south film, and the scale is truly something else,” he added.

About Toxic

Earlier, Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria were also rumoured to be part of the project. Initially even Kareena Kapoor's name was also attached to the rest of the cast. There is buzz about Kareena playing Yash's sister in the film, though no official confirmation has come in yet. However, Kareena has on multiple occasions stated that she is doing a big south film, without revealing any details. 

After 'KGF' a lot of expectations are riding high on Yash's upcoming film. A birthday teaser was also released from the film earlier this month. Yash is also part of Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' with Ranbir Kaoor and Sai Pallavi.
