Ram Charan Says He Would Love To Perform 'Naatu Naatu' At The Oscars

'Naatu Naatu' singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava have been confirmed to perform on the Oscar night.

New Delhi: Ram Charan is currently in the USA for a promotional tour for 'RRR' ahead of the Academy Awards 2023. 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR' has been nominated in the Best Original Song Category for the Oscars. Recently, Ram Charan expressed his interest in performing the song at the Oscars; definitely not the entire song.

'Naatu Naatu' singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava have been confirmed to perform on the Oscar night.

'Naatu Naatu' is already a favourite among Hollywood awards and various international film circuits where it has been felicitated. Over the last few months, several videos of western audiences dancing in theatres to the song have been going viral on social media.

Ram Charan told Letterbox in an interview, “We would love to do Naatu Naatu anywhere that we are being appreciated, but not every place accommodates us to perform. But if we’re at the Oscars and there’s a request, and there’s time, why not? We’ll be more than happy to entertain our audience, who have given us so much. To do the whole number on the stage would be difficult, as it takes a lot of breath and energy. But definitely the hook step. Why not?”

In an interview with ABP Live, Ram Charan had spoken about the popularity of 'RRR' and spoke about what his reaction might be if the song bags an Oscar. “I don’t think I’ll believe it. They have to wake me up and say, go and take it. Shove me up on stage. I’ll be the happiest. I don’t think it’ll be our success, it’ll be the success of the Indian film industry. None of us can take the credit.”

'Naatu Naatu' also won a Golden Globe for the Best Original Song title. 'RRR' is a period action film directed by SS Rajamouli starring Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Ajay Devgn among others. The film recreated the historical lives of two revolutionary freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. While Ram played the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju, Tarak was seen as Bheem.

'RRR' collected some Rs. 1200 crores at the box office and continued to be re-released in theatres across the USA and in Japan. The film also had a successful and profitable run on the streaming platform Netflix.
