Rajiv Kapoor Passes Away At 58: Neetu Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar Offer Tributes; Funeral This Evening In Chembur

Mumbai: Months after Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor's death, his younger brother and actor Rajiv Kapoor passed away. He has appeared in movies like ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, 'Lover Boy', 'Aasmaaan', 'Hum To Chale Pardes' and others.
According to some media reports, Rajiv Kapoor suffered a massive heart attack and was admitted to Inlaks Hospital near his residence in Chembur. Reports say that he breathed his last at around 1 pm on Tuesday.
Karishma, Kareena Kapoor Khan and their mother Babita Kapoor were clicked at the former's residence in Bandra leaving to meet the bereaved family members of Rajiv Kapoor.

Actress Neetu Kapoor informed about his passing away on her Instagram account. She shared a picture of the actor and wrote, “RIP 🙏”
Neha Dhupia wrote, “So so sorry to hear this 🙏”
Raveena Tandon wrote, “Om Shanti🙏🏻🕉🙏🏻 . Condolences to the entire family.”
Soni Razdan wrote, “So sorry to hear this 🙏”.
Actress Sophie Choudry also paid tribute on Instagram and said, “I am so so sorry to hear this. Deepest condolences to the entire family. May his soul RIP.”
Tusshar Kapoor also mourned the loss of the actor and tweeted, “Sad to hear of the passing away of Rajiv Kapoor! Deepest condolences to the family! May his soul rest in peace”.
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also took to Twitter to offer condolences. She tweeted in Hindi, "I just got to know Raj Kapoor's younger soon Rajiv Kapoor passed away. He was a talented actor. I was really saddened to hear about his death. May God bless his soul."
Offering tributes on Twitter, actor and friend Naved Jafri heaped praise on Rajiv Kapoor. "He was a pure heart and a very nice human being. May his soul rest in peace, deepest condolences to the family."
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh also tweeted, “Devastated!! Another big loss to the family one of my most favourite people in the world. Love him so so dearly. Don’t remember a Happy Moment without him. Chimpu uncle we will miss you. RIP."
Rajiv Kapoor was born on August 25, 1962. He was born to Bollywood actor Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor and is the younger brother of Randhir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. He made his acting debut as a lead actor in the 1985 movie ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. He made his directorial debut with the 1996 film ‘PremGranth’ which starred Rishi Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. He also produced the film ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’ in the year 1999.
Rajiv Kapoor made his last film appearance in the 1990 movie ‘Zimmedaar’.
