New Delhi: 'Delhi Crime' came as a series that took the audience to a whole new world of police force. Bringing a fresh perspective with its captivating story, the series went on to rule not only the hearts of the audience but also took home major awards. While the web show was well-studded with a lot of interesting elements, the best part was indeed the performance of the talented Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi. Her character was the soul of the series. The audience indeed showered immense love on the show that made it evolve into 2 seasons. Today, as Delhi Crime 2 counts its 1 year, Shefali Shah reminisces about her character and her attachment to it.

It’s one of those projects that happens once in a while, where the show and the character affected and left a lasting impact on the audience as much as it did for us. The USP being the show, the characters the treatment is so real. There’s no paraphernalia of what cops are normally depicted as in films. DC is as real as it gets. When I did DC 1, I had no idea where the show or the character Vartika would go. All I knew was this one was special and I loved creating it. But after it was released not only was the show loved but Vartika became unprecedented. And I’m lucky and humbled with the love and respect that Vartika and I have Received."

With her character of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, Shefali truly gave an example of her strong presence on the screen.
