Koffee With Karan: Sara Ali Khan Says 'It Isn't Always Easy' As She Talks About Breakup With Kartik Aaryan

Actors and recent best friends Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday graced host Karan Johar's graffiti couch in Koffee With Karan season 8, episode 3.

New Delhi: Actors and recent best friends Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday graced host Karan Johar's graffiti couch in Koffee With Karan season 8, episode 3. They discussed everything from wanting to be respected by the "audience" to regretting past remarks they had made in chat shows and interviews. They even spoke about their common ex-boyfriend, Kartik Aaryan.

Since they dated the same person once, Karan questioned them straight about Kartik Aaryan and whether it was easy for them to get along. Sara chose to respond to the question, however she focused mostly on relationships and breakups. She said, "“I don't want to say that ya, it's all easy because then it comes across as a little more frivolous than it is. It isn't always easy. When you are involved with anybody, whether it's friends, professionally, romantically, espically if I am, I get involved and invested. It is not like, ‘Oh yeah, it doesn’t really matter, whatever its today, whatever its tomorrow'. It's not like that. It does effect you. But ultimately you have to rise beyond that.”

She went on to say that making promises to someone that you won't ever talk to them again or that they would be your friend for eternity isn't the smartest move in the industry. “Something I have realised without sounding semi-negative, is that there are no permanent predicaments in this business. In my personal experience, there is no point making permanent best friendships, pinky promises, saying I'll never talk to you again. All these nevers and always nahi hota (doesn't happen)," she said.

Karan went on to tell them about his personal relationship with Kareena Kapoor and Kajol, that once went through a difficult period but eventually things were sorted out. Sara reasoned that since his ties with them lasted for longer periods of time, they also had greater "gravity."

Following her admission on Koffee With Karan that she had feelings for Kartik, Sara and Kartik briefly dated. Not long after, they broke up. At one point, Ananya and Kartik dated as well. Karan acknowledged their relationship and subsequent separation with Ananya's mother Bhavana Panday on a KWK episode.

At the September 2022 OTTplay Awards, Sara and Kartik were seen speaking casually, giving the impression that everything was good between them. This year, she also went to his house for a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.
