Jaideep Ahlawat, who is preparing for the second season of the much acclaimed series, disclosed that Bollywood superstars like Aamir Khan got in touch with him after viewing the drama.
New Delhi: The web series Paatal Lok's remarkable success was discussed by actor Jaideep Ahlawat. The actor, who is preparing for the second season of the much acclaimed series, disclosed that Bollywood superstars like Aamir Khan got in touch with him after viewing the drama and inquired about his acting technique.
Jaideep stated in an interview with Humans of Bombay that everyone was trapped inside their homes when Paatal Lok arrived because of COVID-19. "We felt afraid. We were aware that 'Paatal Lok' was a success, but we were unaware that there would be bombardment two days later. My phone began to hang 48 hours after Pataal Lok was released. Because of the phone calls and responses, I cried several times every single day."
Jaideep also mentioned getting a call from Manoj Bajpayee and said, "I think it was the second or third day after release and I got a call from Manoj Bajpayee. He spoke for about 30 to 35 minutes.”
After a week of the film's release, the Jaane Jaan actor claimed that he was on a video call with his fellow actors when he unexpectedly received a notification that stated, "Hello, this is Aamir Khan. Please let me know whenever you are free, I will call."

Jaideep claimed that he originally dismissed the notification as a hoax and informed his wife, "Ye sahi nahi ho sakta (this can't be true)" when he heard about it. He responded, though, and Aamir phoned him. He said, “When I heard his voice I was sure it was Aamir and he said ‘Can we talk on a video call?’”
The actor claimed that they spoke for longer than 30 minutes, during which time Aamir inquired about various aspects of his acting technique. Jaideep was shocked that an actor of Aamir's stature was asking about his acting approach, despite how impressive Aamir's career in Hindi cinema had been. He wondered, “You are asking me about my process? You are the master of this, of preparing for a character, starting from the look of the character.” The actor added, “He was so genuine and sweet.”
Next up for Jaideep Ahlawat is Jaane Jaan, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Vijay Varma. The movie, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will debut on Netflix on September 21.
