'Stree 3' Script Is Ready, Actors Aparshakti Khurrana And Abhishek Banerjee Call It 'Big Epic Saga'

'Stree 2' cast is thrilled with the overwhelming response and is now eagerly looking forward to the next installment, 'Stree 3.'

'Stree 2,' the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit "Stree," has become one of the most successful films of the year. The film's cast is thrilled with the overwhelming response and is now eagerly looking forward to the next installment, 'Stree 3.'

Stree 3 in making? Abhishek Banerjee shares details

In an interview with indianexpress.com, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays Janaa—a key character connecting the horror-comedy films 'Stree,' 'Stree 2,' 'Bhediya,' and 'Munjya'—shared an update on 'Stree 3.' He revealed that the script is already written, describing the upcoming movie as a "big epic saga."

While there was a six-year gap between the releases of "Stree" and "Stree 2," fans can expect a shorter wait for the third part. Director Amar Kaushik is set to return for the third installment (his fourth in the horror-comedy franchise including "Bhediya" starring Varun Dhawan).

Discussing the production timeline for 'Stree 3,' Abhishek mentioned that while it will take some time, it won't be as long as the wait for 'Stree 2.' He said, "It will take time, but now that 'Stree 2' has become such a big hit, I know it won’t take six years like it did with 'Stree 2.' That’s for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga, and as an actor, I can’t wait to be back on that set."

Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in the franchise, also expressed his excitement about 'Stree 3.' He shared, "The framework for 'Stree 3' was ready long before 'Stree 2' was released. Now, we’re just waiting for producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik to provide more details."

Dinesh Vijan on Stree 3

Producer Dinesh Vijan had confirmed the development of 'Stree 3' at the trailer launch event for 'Stree 2.' He remarked, "Stree 2 is like the mothership. It answers a lot of questions raised by 'Stree' and sets the stage for what’s coming next. After 'Stree 2,' we have a film called 'Thama,' which we’ll reveal more about later. 'Stree 3' is already written, so the gap between films will be shorter. 'Stree 2' is bigger, madder, and crazier—the trailer only shows 10 percent of what’s to come because we want to save the visual effects for the theater. But one thing I can promise: it's Maddock's most 'paisa vasool' film yet."

According to online reports, 'Stree 3' will feature an even bigger ensemble cast. Akshay Kumar is rumoured to play the supervillain, with Tamannaah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ayushmann Khurrana joining the Maddock Films horror-comedy universe through this film. 'Stree 3' is expected to hit theaters in 2025.
