'RRR' Sequel With Ram Charan, Jr. NTR To Be Set In Africa: SS Rajamouli's Father & Writer Vijayendra Prasad Shares
While there has been no confirmation about the same from the director SS Rajamouli, writer and SS's father Vijayendra Prasad hinted that the sequel with the two protagonists can be set in Africa.
New Delhi: SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' was one of the biggest hits of 2022. The film broke many box office records in India and abroad. After winning an Oscar and a Golden Globe for 'Naatu Naatu', a possible sequel for 'RRR' has been speculated by many. While there has been no confirmation about the same from the director SS Rajamouli, writer and SS's father Vijayendra Prasad hinted that the sequel with the two protagonists can be set in Africa.
In an interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Prasad was asked about the sequel to 'RRR'. He replied with, "It’s both a yes and a no. After the release of RRR I shared an idea of the sequel where the story continues with Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr) set in Africa,” after which SS asked him to develop the idea into a full script.
Vijayendra Prasad added that currently Rajamouli is busy with his upcoming film with Mahesh Babu and will only begin thinking of the next after he has finished the ongoing project. "Knowing my son’s temperament he will not pay any attention to the sequel-idea till the movie with Mahesh is finished. After that if he likes my script and if both the heroes like the script and if they have the time…” He said.
Earlier, Prasad had told Maha News that the sequel of 'RRR' could be helmed by a Hollywood director.
In November last year, SS Rajamouli had spoken about the possible sequel of 'RRR' at a screening in Chicago where he said that he would 'absolutely love to make it'. "I can’t reveal many details about it but my father, who has been a screenwriter for all my films including RRR…We discussed a bit about it, and he is working on the story,” he said
SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film is being shot with Mahesh Babu which is said to be an Indiana Jones-like adventure film.
