A while ago, news of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide left every one shocked and heartbroken. The 34-year-old actor was reportedly suffering from depression and police found some anti-depressants pill in his room. The actor was found hanging from ceiling fan at his Bandra residence.
Sushant made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with 'Kai Po Che' and in his 8-year-long career he starred in 11 films mostly hits. He was last seen in Netflix's 'Drive' movie opposite Jacqueline Fernandez. Sushant will forever be remembered as a promising star due to his fine choices of movie and was no wonder he was an actor par excellence. But do you know he was academically brilliant too? Here are some lesser known facts about Sushant Singh Rajput.
  • Born in Patna, Sushant is the only brother to four sisters.
 
  • His father was a government official, the actor lost his mother when he was just in 12th standard.
 
  • He had ranked seventh in the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) Entrance Exam in 2003 and secured admission in the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)
 
  • He was also a National Olympiad Winner in Physics.
 
  • While a student at Delhi Technological University, Rajput enrolled in Shiamak Davar's dance classes.
 
  • He rarely had time for studies, resulting in several backlogs which ultimately made him leave DCE. He completed only three years of the four-year course before dropping out to pursue an acting career.
 
  • In 2005, he was chosen to be one of the group of background dancers at the 51st Filmfare Awards.
 
  • In 2006, he was part of the troupe that went to Australia to perform in the cultural program at the opening ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
 
  • Many think Sushant’s television debut was the popular daily soap, ‘Pavitra Rishta’. However, that’s not true as the actor started his acting career with the role of Preet Juneja in the serial ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Dil Mera’.
