New Delhi: Actor Rana Daggubati has offered his thoughts on Samantha Ruth Prabhu's decision to go public with her sickness and let the world know as he prepares for the debut of his upcoming series Rana Naidu that also stars his uncle and megastar Venkatesh. Rana recently gave an interview in which he discussed his thoughts on Samantha's discussion of her uncommon autoimmune condition, myositis.
Samantha reported her diagnosis of myositis in November of last year. She has previously worked with Raj and DK on 'Family Man 2', and is now filming the Indian adaption of 'Citadel'.
Rana admitted he kept in touch with Samantha frequently after finding out about her sickness during a conversation with RJ Siddharth Kannan. He said, "Everyone has hardships in their life. Everyone will have something that is life-changing, that’s life-threatening."
Talking further about Samantha's decision to open up about her health struggles, the 'Rana Naidu' actor continued, "It’s about how you deal with it, and when you want to speak about it. It’s important that sad things happen but the beauty is to get back up and keep going.”
Samantha had also talked about her sickness during the promotions of her film 'Yashoda'. The actress got emotional and said, "As I said in my post (Instagram), some days are good, some are bad. Some days, I’ve felt even taking one more step would be difficult. But when I look back, I wonder I’ve gone through so much and have come this far. I’m here to fight.”
She also said that though the condition that she is suffering from might be life-threatening, she is not at that stage yet. Talking about news headlines that declared her condition to be deadly, she continued, "I want to clear one thing. I saw a lot of articles describing my condition as life-threatening. The stage I’m in, it’s not life-threatening. At the moment, I’m not dead yet. I don’t think those headlines were very necessary."
Samantha is currently shooting for the Indian adaptation of 'Citadel' opposite Varun Dhawan. The actress recently shared a picture of her injured hands from the sets of the upcoming series.
She will also be seen in the mythological historical drama 'Shaakuntalam' that releases in April.
