‘Ponniyin Selvan’: Jayaram Ravi’s Look As Raja Raja Cholan Out

New Delhi: The makers of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ have released the first look of Jayaram Ravi’s character Arunmozhi Varman AKA Raja Raja Cholan.  

Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies tweeted the first look poster of Jayam Ravi and wrote, "Hail the Visionary Prince, the Architect of Golden Era, the Great Raja Raja Chola introducing Ponniyin Selvan!"

First-look posters of the film’s actors are being released almost every day and the teaser of the film will be out on Friday at 6 pm. After releasing the first look of actor Karthi as the Chola army commander Vanthiyathevan and the look of Vikram as Aditya Karikalan, Aishwarya and Trisha’s looks in the film were released.  

Aishwarya Rai will be essaying the role of Queen Nandini while Trisha will be seen as Princess Kundavai.

Touted as Mani Ratnam’s dream project, the first part of the film will release on September 30.  

The film, based on the classic Tamil novel of the same name written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy, will release in five languages -- Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It is said to be one of the most expensive films in the country.  

The film stars Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala. The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman while the cinematography is by Ravi Varman. National Award-winning art director Thotta Tharani is in charge of production design while Sreekar Prasad is the editor.
