Ponniyin Selvan 2 Release Date: As promised, makers shared a special announcement teaser on December 28 , 4:00 PM announcing the release date of 'PS 2' to be April 28, 2023.
New Delhi: All Mani Ratnam fans, brace yourself for the announcement you have all been waiting for. Mani Ratnam's magnum opus, 'Ponniyin Selvan's second installment, PS 2 will release in April next year. The first part 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' became one of the biggest blockbusters in the Indian film industry. Having garnered both critical and audience acclaim, fans had been awaiting the announcement of 'PS 2' release ever since it was reported that Mani Ratnam had shot both parts of the film together.
As promised, makers shared a special announcement teaser on December 28 , 4:00 PM announcing the release date of 'PS 2' to be April 28, 2023.
'Ponniyin Selvan 1' collected more than Rs. 500 crores worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages.
The film is based on the acclaimed Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's 'Ponniyin Selvan' novels. The upcoming second installment will once again feature the music of Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman.
The core cast members of 'PS1' will return in 'PS 2'. "Chiyaan' Vikram as Aditha Karikalan, followed by Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyathevan, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, Trisha as Kundavai Devi, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is appearing in dual roles as Nandini and Mandakini Devi" reported Galatta.com
The sequel will also see the return of other ensemble cast members like Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabu, Lal, Rahman, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Jayachitra, Vidya Subramanian,R. Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Prabhu, and Prakash Raj among others.
Produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, the epic historial action adventure film has been written by Mani Ratnam, Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan.
