Indian-Origin Vivek Ramaswamy Trolled For Sitting Barefoot At His Own Home

However, a section of the internet came in Ramaswamy's support. "Racism has gotten so strong it involves people having to wear shoes in their OWN home," said a user.

Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswamy, who is in the race for Ohio Governor, faced backlash from trolls for sitting barefoot during an interview. The debate began after a picture from an old interview resurfaced online. In the image, Ramaswamy is seen speaking to a journalist at his home. While Ramaswamy sat barefoot, the journalist was wearing a pair of socks.

"Vivek will never be governor of Ohio. This is unacceptable for America," an angry X user wrote. Another person wrote, "Shoes and proper hygiene & etiquette are simply ideas."

Another person said, "Vivek lectures us about education while barefoot. Uncivilised."

Ramaswamy Gets Support

However, a section of the internet came in Ramaswamy's support. "Racism has gotten so strong it involves people having to wear shoes in their OWN home," said a user.

"You realize that people's feet are probably much cleaner than their hands. It's not like he walked all the way from India in his bare feet. He took his shoes and socks off when he got there," another person tweeted.

An X user said, "I just found out this is his own house. WHAT THE F*** are people whining about?

In December, Ramaswamy stormed into a political debate over his comments that America values mediocrity.

In a post on X, he wrote, "For far too long, at least since the 1990s and probably longer, our American culture has valued mediocrity over excellence." "The best engineers will not be produced by a culture that favours the jock over the valedictorian or the prom queen over the math Olympiad champion."

US President Donald Trump picked Ramaswamy to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with Elon Musk. However, he stepped away from the role.
