Odia group files complaint against SRK for 2001 film 'Ashoka'
Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], Nov 1 (ANI): Ahead of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's visit to Odisha for Men's Hockey World Cup, a local group has filed a complaint against the actor for hurting the sentiment of Odia people in his 2001 movie 'Asoka'. The group, called Kalinga Sena, has filed their complaint at Nayapalli Police station in the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
In their complaint, Kalinga Sena has claimed that Shah Rukh has hurt the sentiments of Odia people and dishonoured their culture by portraying the Kalinga war in a wrong manner.
"Shah Rukh Khan portrayed history in a wrong way and Kareena's character was also not appropriate and it violated the culture of Odisha. We want him to get arrested. If this does not happen, then we will protest from the airport to the stadium when he arrives in Bhubaneshwar," said Kalinga Sena chief Hemanth Rath.
