Money Laundering Case: ED Issues Fresh Summons To Jacqueline Fernandez After She Fails To Appear Before Officials

The ED summoned the ‘Ram Setu’ actress Jacqueline Fernandez in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez landed into trouble when her name came up in the alleged money laundering case, which is being probed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED summoned the ‘Ram Setu’ actress in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

The ED has issued a fresh summon to the ‘Cirkus’ actress after she skipped her questioning for the second time. She skipped her questioning in the case in the alleged extortion case for the second consecutive day.

According to a report of ANI, “The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday issued fresh summons to Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez to appear before its Delhi office on Monday for questioning with the Rs 200-crore money laundering case.” The report further added that the actress was unable to present herself before the ED officials on Saturday citing personal unavoidable reasons.”

Amid all these, Jacqueline took to her Instagram and informed that she has started shooting for her upcoming ‘Ram Setu’ in Ooty. She shared a beautiful picture and wrote, “Feels great to be back on sets with team Ram Setu in my fav Ooty! Nature at its best”.

Other than Jacqueline Fernandez, Nora Fatehi has also been summoned by the ED in the mentioned case. The ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ actress also appeared for her questioning a few days back.

Nora's team also released a statement on Friday that read, “To whomsoever it may concern. On behalf of Nora Fatehi, we would like to clarify the various conjectures floating around amongst the media. Nora Fatehi has been the victim around the case and being a witness, she is co-operating and helping the officers in the investigation. We would like to make it very clear that she has not been a part of any money laundering activity, she does not know or have any personal connection with the accused and has been called by ED to strictly help with the investigation. We would like to request our fellow friends in the media to refrain from slandering her name and making any statements before any official information is released.”

On the professional front, Jacqueline Fernandez will be next seen featuring in ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Cirkus’, ‘Vikrant Rona’ and ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’.
