New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been making waves ever since the project was announced. After delivering a blockbuster hit at the box office with Ranveer Singh’s ‘Simmba’, Shetty will now helm the film starring Khiladi Kumar as chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad. Gossip mills have been buzzing with the rumours of the name of the actress playing the lead role opposite the ‘Kesari’ star in the film. If a recent grapevine is to be believed, we might see Katrina Kaif opposite Akshay in ‘Sooryavanshi’. A report in an entertainment portal suggested that Katrina has been considered by the makers to play the female lead. If Kat comes on board for the film, we will see her reunite with Akshay after ‘Tees Maar Khan’. Katrina was recently spotted at the screening of Vicky Kaushal starrer ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ along with Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty. The report said that the ‘Zero’ actress usually comes for the screening of her close friends and we might see in Shetty’s next directorial. Akshay will be seen in the role of ATS officer Veer Suryavanshi in this comedy-drama film apparently, the actress who is paired romantically opposite him, will play his girlfriend and wife who is a pillar of support to him in a background full of corruption and intrigue. It’s a strong role and Katrina is definitely being considered as one of the options and approached for the same. It’s all very hush-hush right now till everything is finalized,” a source told Pinkvilla. Rohit Shetty and Katrina Kaif have not worked together and the ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ actress may finally say yes to the ‘Golmaal’ director for his next film. On the professional front, Katrina will be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’ opposite Salman Khan. The film will hit the silver screens during Eid this year. The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actress is yet to sign a film after ‘Bharat’ and her dates are free at the moment. The shoot for ‘Sooryavanshi’ will start from mid-2019 and ‘Bharat’ would have released by then, the source further told the portal. When the portal contacted Rohit Shetty, he said, “It’s not true.
