A UA certificate means the film is suitable for viewers of all ages, though parental guidance is advised. Reports indicate that 'Emergency' was submitted to the censor board for review on July 8. However, the film encountered controversy last month when several Sikh organizations, including Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, called for a ban due to its portrayal of the Sikh community. These groups wrote to the censor board and even approached the court.

Subsequently, Kangana Ranaut, the director and producer of 'Emergency', shared a statement on X, announcing the film's delay. She wrote, "With a heavy heart, I announce that my directorial Emergency has been postponed. We are still waiting for the certification from the censor board. The new release date will be announced soon. Thanks for your understanding and patience."
