Mumbai: The Income Tax Department has ‘surveyed’ Bollywood actor Sonu Sood’s house in Mumbai. According to a report in ANI, the investigation wing of I-T Department has surveyed six places including the offices and home belonging to Sonu Sood. 

The 'survey' comes after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal roped the 'Simmba' actor as a brand ambassador for AAP's 'Desh Ke Mentor' programme in August 2021. Sonu trended on Twitter after the rumours of the 'survey' surfaced on the internet. 

Another report in IANS said that the a team of I-T sleuths started the operations since Wednesday morning; however, the reason behind the 'survey' is not immediately known.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal came out in Sonu's support after the I-T department 'surveyed' premises linked to the actor. He posted a tweet that read, "There are millions of difficulties on the path of truth, but the truth always manages to win. Son Sood has prayers of lakhs of families of India who got his support in difficult times."

Many AAP leaders also extended support to Sood on social media. 

Last month, Sonu remained in headlines after rumours of him contesting elections surfaced on the internet. He shared a tweet to refute the speculations about his political debut. 

Sonu Sood emerged as a messiah for the migrant workers during last year’s COVID-19 lockdown. He received praises from all the corners for his humanitarian work amid the Coronavirus crisis in India. 

The ‘Dabangg’ star actively helped the people during the peak of the second wave of COVID in India. From providing medical aid to arranging oxygen cylinders, he worked round the clock to serve the people, who were affected by the pandemic.  

Sonu Sood's Upcoming Films

On the professional front, Sood will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer 'Prithviraj'. The period drama will mark the Bollywood debut of former Misss World Manushi Chillar. If things go as planned, 'Prithviraj' will clash with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur's 'Jersey' at the box office.

Sonu will also feature in a Telugu film titled 'Acharya'.
