Is Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna's Sikandar a Remake? Director AR Murugadoss Clarifies

Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna-starrer 'Sikandar' has created much excitement among Bhaijaan fans. There has also been speculation around the Salman Khan film being a remake of Vijay's 'Sarkar' while some suggested that the film's teaser looked inspired from Prashanth Neel's 'Salaar. However, putting to rest all rumours, the film's director AR Murugadoss set the record straight by saying that the film is not a remake.
In a statement, AR Murugadoss asserted that the action entertainer will be an original story and is not a remake of any film. “This is a completely original story. Every scene, every frame of Sikandar has been designed and executed with authenticity, offering a fresh narrative and experience. It’s not a remake or adaptation of any existing film,” Murugadoss said.
“An essential part of the film's originality is its stunning background score, crafted by the immensely talented Santosh Narayanan. His music perfectly complements the film’s energetic tone and vibrant visuals, adding an emotional depth that enhances every scene,” he added.
AR Murugadoss is best known for being a pan-Indian director whose works have catered to demographics sans the audience. He is known for directing Tamil and Hindi blockbusters like 'Ghajini', 'Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' and 'Sarkar'.
About Salman Khan's Sikandar
Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna starrer 'Sikandar' stars Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal. The film will be released in theatres on Eid 2025. Like some of his past projects, Salman will be seen in a new look in the project. The plot and production of the film is not known by any. 'Sikandar' is being backed by Sajid Nadiadwala's banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Earlier, the teaser of 'Sikandar' was released. A song from the film titled 'Zonhra Jabeen' was also released. Salman's 'Sikandar' will be released in theatres on Eid 2025.
