According to the complaint, the actress, who is currently working in a film directed by Ranjith, said the incident happened on the set during the shoot. The film was being shot in Kottayam and Kochi, and the alleged incident is said to have taken place in Kochi.

The actress had earlier submitted a complaint to senior police officers, including the Director General of Police. Her statement was recorded at a women’s police station two days earlier, after which police moved ahead with the case.

An FIR has been filed at Udayamperoor Police Station under Section 376 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the case has been kept private.
