The film's overall collection outside India stands at Rs. 5 cores. 'Vaathi' is showing no signs of slowing and is continuously generating more numbers at the box office.

It is expected that 'Vaathi' will continue to do well in the second week as well with a major portion of the business coming from Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states.

'Vaathi/Sir' marks Dhanush's Telugu debut as well. Samyuktha plays the female lead in the film directed by Venky Atluri. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music of the film which has been appreciated by all.

'Vaathi' is the story of a third-year junior lecturer at an institute in Balamurugan who stands up to the establishment that provides children with education in exchange for business profits.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer 'Shehzada' has had a tough week with a collection of only Rs. 26.50 crores nett. As per boxoffice india.com, the film has failed to attract the mass markets in Gujarat, Rajasthan and CI, which generally respond well to family entertainers.
