Dhadak 2 trailer: On Friday, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions dropped the trailer for 'Dhadak 2', introducing Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri as its fresh leads.

Dhadak 2 trailer: Nearly six years after 'Dhadak' launched Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter into Bollywood, filmmaker Karan Johar has returned with a new chapter, one that carries the essence of the original but speaks to an entirely different emotional and social terrain. On Friday, Johar's Dharma Productions dropped the trailer for 'Dhadak 2', introducing Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri as its fresh leads.

What's in Dhadak 2 trailer?

The makers captioned the trailer drop with: "It all begins with ek धड़क! ❤️ #Dhadak2 trailer out now, Releasing in cinemas on 1st August."

Helmed by Shazia Iqbal, 'Dhadak 2' follows the journey of two college students navigating not just love, but also the harsh realities of social divisions. Siddhant plays a young man who gets admission through a reservation quota and faces caste-based discrimination on campus. Amidst this, he finds unexpected support in Triptii's character, a progressive young woman who challenges societal norms and rejects caste prejudice.

Their relationship soon grows beyond the boundaries of campus life and begins to defy familial expectations and rigid social systems. The trailer teases a layered romantic drama that puts the couple’s love to the ultimate test, forcing them to fight not only for each other, but for the right to live on their own terms.

The trailer looks promising.” Another shared, “Triptii and Siddhant's chemistry looks refreshing.” A third comment praised Triptii specifically: “Finally, we are going to see Tripti in the character which she's mastered to play.”

Praising her performance, another user wrote, “Our Laila is back. Triptii is back in form. Acting - Emotions - Drama. All in one package.” Yet another echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Finally, Tripti Dimri got a better script.”

Apart from Johar, the film boasts a multi-producer team including Umesh Kumar Bansal, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Meenu Aroraa, Somen Mishra, and Pragati Deshmukh, with Marijke deSouza serving as co-producer. The supporting cast features Vipin Sharma, Manjiri Pupala, Deeksha Joshi, and Saurabh Sachdev, adding further depth to the ensemble.
