Deva Box Office Collection Day 2: Shahid Kapoor’s Film Struggles After Slow Start, Crosses Rs 10 Crore
Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s ‘Deva’ managed to earn slightly more than Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s Sky Force (Rs 5 crore), which is already in its second week.

Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s ‘Deva’ is off to a slow start at the box office. On Saturday, the film managed to earn slightly more than Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s Sky Force (Rs 5 crore), which is already in its second week. However, with a slight boost on day two, the makers are hopeful for a stronger Sunday performance.
Shahid Kapoor's Deva sees slight growth
According to tracking site Sacnilk, ‘Deva’ earned Rs 6.25 crore on Day 2, bringing its total collection to Rs 11.75 crore. The film recorded an overall occupancy of around 13%. However, with strong competition from Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s ‘Sky Force’, its weekend performance remains uncertain.
While ‘Deva’ has performed better than Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Jersey’ (Rs 3.1 crore and Rs 4.1 crore in its first two days), its numbers fall short compared to his recent hits like ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ (Rs 6.7 crore and Rs 9.65 crore) and ‘Kabir Singh’ (Rs 20.21 crore and Rs 22.71 crore). Even ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ (Rs 6.76 crore and Rs 7.96 crore), which underperformed at the box office, had a stronger opening.
Deva review
The ABP Live review of the film reads: From the very first scene, this film grips you with its intense storytelling. Shahid Kapoor delivers an electrifying performance, so compelling that it makes you forget his Kabir Singh persona. The screenplay is tight, loaded with thrilling sequences that keep you glued to the screen. The action sequences are visually spectacular and executed with conviction. The depiction of Mumbai’s slums adds a layer of authenticity, and the unpredictable storyline ensures that you hold your breath till the very end.
‘Deva’ follows the story of ACP Dev Ambre, played by Shahid Kapoor, a hot-headed cop and womanizer who loses his memory while investigating his best friend’s murder. The film is an adaptation of Rosshan Andrews’ 2013 Malayalam thriller ‘Mumbai Police’, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran. However, significant changes were made to the script, especially altering the major climax twist. Pooja Hegde plays Dev’s girlfriend, Divya Sathaye, a journalist.
