Coronavirus: Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn & Other B'wood Celebs Spread PM Modi's Message On 'Janta Curfew'
Bollwyood stars including Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn praised PM Narendra Modi's speech and requested their fans to be part of 'Janta Curfew'.
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Thursday (March 19) and made a fervent appeal to the citizens to observe ‘Janta Curfew’ on March 22 from 7am to 9pm to contain the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. PM urged the people to face the Coronavirus pandemic with restraint and asked them to stay indoors as much as possible to avoid getting infected by COVID-19.
Several Bollywood celebs including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Shilpa Shetty were quick to spread PM Modi’s message on ‘Janta Curfew’ on social media.
Akshay Kumar tweeted, “An excellent initiative by PM @narendramodi ji...this Sunday, March 22 from 7 am to 9 pm let’s all join in the #JantaCurfew and show the world we are together in this. #SocialDistancing.”
"A very important announcement made by respected @narendramodi ji with self isolation we must practice self discipline. #jantacurfew Be Positive and responsible Jai Hind,"Shilpa Shetty wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Ajay Devgn, last seen in 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior',asked his fans to adhere to the 'Janta Curfew' on March 22. "Fellow Indians, Namaskar Folded hands A short while ago, Our PM Saab, Modiji, requested all of us to show resolve & restraint in the face of COVID-19. Please also adhere to the Janta Curfew on 22nd March by staying home. Stay Safe Folded hands @PMOIndia @narendramodi #JantaCurfew," his tweet read.
Varun Dhawan, who will be next seen in 'Coolie No. 1' opposite Sara Ali Khan, said that he would observe the curfew.
"I will take part in the #jantacurfew on March 22 nd and at 5 in the evening will show my support to our selfless heroes fighting this virus. This is a time to be one and practise #SocialDistancing. Let’s follow our prime ministers appeal. #BeSafe,'' the 'Street Dancer' actor wrote.
"Imp initiative by our Honorable PM @narendramodi with #jantacurfew Self-inflicted Quarantine and Staying at HOME on Sunday, March 22 from 7 AM to 9 PM is a measured and sensible way to protect from this pandemic by not creating panic yet acknowledging the gravity of the situatn," Karan Johar tweeted.
Ekta Kapoor wrote, "Excellent initiative by our Honourable PM ModiJi @PMOIndia with #JuntaCurfew. Self-inflicted quarantine & stay-at-home on Sunday 22nd March from 7am to 9pm is the best way to stay protected from this pandemic!"
Arjun Kapoor, last seen in 'Panipat', made an appeal to his fans to observe the 'Janta Curfew' on March 22.
"Our Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji has requested us to follow #JantaCurfew on 22nd March from 7am to 9pm. It is an urgent and humble appeal to us all to please be home. Stay safe & stay healthyFolded handsFolded hands #IndiaFightsCorona," his tweet read.
